.

so, want to hear about my personal life?

I don't talk about my personal life very much on this blog, since I like it to be craft-focused. However, almost a month without posting is pretty unacceptable, so I thought I'd offer an explanation (or rather, a few explanations).

So, first up, Jared graduated from law school!!! I am so proud of him - he really is a brilliant guy and has accomplished a lot since I've known him. He starts a job at a great firm here in NY in the fall. But first, he has to study, study, study for the Bar Exam.

Doesn't Jared look handsome in his robes? As you can see from the photo, we had family in town - Jared's parents, my parents and my sweet baby brother, Kevin. It was the first time to NYC for most of them, and we had a great time showing off our town.

In other BIG news, I'm pregnant! Or maybe that was obvious - my out of town friends and family said they knew it as soon as I stopped posting as frequently back in March. Here is a photo of the ever growing bump from last week:

And here is the boy, who while in the womb will be known as "Baby Jack Bauer." Because he is tough like that. Look at that face! We're pretty sure he is going to be a good one.

Becoming a mother is pretty much my life ambition, so this is an exciting time for me. We can't wait for him to arrive in October. Jared is thrilled to be having a boy, which he was certain we would have from day one.

To make life just a little more hectic, we are moving to a new apartment next Saturday. Finding an apartment in NYC is no easy feat, but we found a great place. It is a really charming pre-war apartment that has some nice architectural details. I love knowing that we are settling here for a little while and can't wait to put a little work into making our new apartment a real home. I've never been very skilled at home decorating, so we'll see how it goes! Maybe I'll post some of my DIY home improvement projects.

So, that in a nutshell is why I haven't been posting a lot of craft projects. Things have been busy around here. I do have things to post, but blogging has been bumped a few notches on the priority list. I haven't given up on the Michael Miller Baby Bootie Contest either. Luckily for me, they extended the deadline to July 7, so I plan to have my new and improved pair of booties ready just in the nick of time.
